How are we different?
A small, agile and selective school, The Actors Division seeks to create the next generation of highly skilled, technical actors for the stage and screen. At the heart of our training program is a rigorous focus on — but not limited to — the Stanislavski System, Michael Chekhov Technique and The Uta Hagen Method, taught alongside intensive physical and vocal training tailored for young actors.
Where can this lead?
While Actors are at the centre of our program, we understand that acting is often the springboard for creatives into other parts of the industry. We have a healthy community of young writers, directors and producers that we foster and celebrate, giving them career advice and access to mentors working professionally.
Individual passion, collective spirit.
Admission is by application only. This means that all our students bring skill, compassion, empathy, curiosity and intelligence to the ensemble. The craft is taught in a youth-friendly, palatable and fun way. Class sizes are strictly limited so there is ample time on the floor for each ensemble member. Furthermore, the ensemble continually refresh their camera technique — recording self tapes to keep their screen muscles sharp. We strive to keep our ensemble ready to work, whether it be on stage, screen or even a school play.
Industry Showcase ‘23
The Actors Division presented its second industry showcase in September 2023. We were thrilled to host industry actors, directors and producers at our performance of selected scenes by the ensemble. Our ensemble worked all term to put on a stunning show at Brand X theatre in the heart of Darlinghurst.
Knock-Knock
In April of 2023, The Actors Division were proud to present their first full length comedy, ‘KNOCK-KNOCK, or What The Porter Saw’, written and directed by Josh Anderson.
Industry Showcase ‘22
The Actors Division presented its first industry showcase in July 2022. We were elated to host producers, directors and other industry figures at our performance of selected scenes by some of our ensemble. The actors spent a week putting their hard work developed over the last year into practice, pulling off an impressive show and displaying a technical skill beyond their years.
Death on the High Seas
Our second production for 2022, “Death on the High Seas” featured our younger students testing their skills in an original comedic farce.
